Ingredients
  

Cranberry Mixture

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 4 to 5 green onions, chopped
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 unit jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 cup sugar adjustable, around
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Cream Cheese Base

  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened two 8-ounce packs (light or regular)

For Serving

  • crackers for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place the cranberries in a food processor or blender and pulse until coarsely chopped.
  • Add green onions, cilantro, jalapeno, sugar, cumin, lemon juice, and salt. Pulse again until well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture into a covered container and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or up to overnight.
  • Spread cream cheese in an even layer on a serving plate or pie dish.
  • Spread the cranberry-jalapeno mixture over the cream cheese layer, cover, and refrigerate for up to an hour before serving.
  • Serve chilled with crackers.

Notes

Allowing the cranberry mixture to rest enhances the flavor.
