Equipment

  • Skillet

Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), sliced thin
  • 12 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Start by seasoning the steak slices with salt and pepper. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the steak until it’s nicely browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, then sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and delightful.
  • Next, add the spaghetti or linguine directly to the skillet, followed by the beef broth. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and the broth is mostly absorbed.
  • Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it’s melted and the sauce is creamy. Finally, return the seared steak to the skillet and toss everything together, ensuring the flavors meld beautifully.
  • Sprinkle the dish with chopped fresh parsley and additional Parmesan, if desired. Serve this One-Skillet Spicy Garlic Butter Parmesan Steak Pasta hot and enjoy.

Notes

To take your dish to the next level, consider these helpful tips: Love the heat? Increase the amount of red pepper flakes to kick up the spice factor. For a milder version, use less or omit the flakes altogether. Be sure to not overcook the pasta, as you want it to maintain a nice, firm texture that can stand up to the rich, creamy sauce. For a gluten-free option, use your favorite gluten-free pasta. Try substituting steak with sautéed mushrooms or roasted vegetables for a vegetarian alternative. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. When ready to enjoy, simply reheat in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of broth or milk to revive the creamy texture.
