Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped
  • 8 cups cubed bread, toasted
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the onion and celery until softened.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sausage, onion, celery, apples, bread cubes, chicken broth, melted butter, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Transfer the mixture to the crockpot and cook on low for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve warm.
