Butter and Seasoning

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice (from ½ medium lemon)
  • 4 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper or red pepper flakes

Fish

  • 1.5 pounds tilapia fillets (3 to 4)
  • 1.5 teaspoons kosher salt

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley leaves (coarsely chopped, from 5 sprigs)
  • lemon wedges for serving

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425ºF. In a small bowl, stir together melted butter, lemon juice, chopped garlic, dried thyme, paprika, and black pepper.
  • Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels, then season with kosher salt. Place in a baking dish, spoon the butter mixture evenly over the tilapia.
  • Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the tilapia is opaque and flakes easily. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding more spices or a touch of cayenne pepper to the butter mixture.
